<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1692-35612022000100027&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1692-35612022000100027&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1692-35612022000100027&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN La ganadería de leche del trópico alto colombiano utiliza una alta relación de forraje concentrado en la dieta diaria, la cual, en la mayoría de los casos, deja márgenes económicos poco favorables al productor siendo necesaria la búsqueda de alternativas para la alimentación que ayuden a solventar esta problemática. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar la producción, calidad de la leche y hacer un análisis económico de vacas Holstein, suplementadas con ensilaje de botón de oro (EBO) o ensilaje de maíz (EMA). Se seleccionaron 10 vacas Holstein con características homogéneas y se conformaron dos grupos: un grupo fue suplementado con el tratamiento EMA y el otro con EBO, en un diseño de sobrecambio. Se evaluó la producción de leche/vaca/día sin ajustar y ajustada al 4 % de grasa, la calidad composicional de la leche (% y kg/vaca/día), la eficiencia alimenticia (EA), la eficiencia energética (EE) y se realizó un análisis económico. No hubo diferencias estadísticas significativas (p&gt;0,05) en el consumo de materia seca de ensilaje entre tratamientos, pero sí en la producción de leche, los kg de grasa y proteína/vaca/día, y en la EA (p&lt; 0,05), con diferencia a favor de EBO. Así mismo, el costo de producción del litro de leche y la diferencia ventas-costos por vaca/día estuvieron a favor del tratamiento EBO. Los resultados sugieren que el EBO es una alternativa viable productiva y económicamente, en la suplementación de vacas lactantes en el trópico alto colombiano.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The dairy farming in the Colombian highland tropic uses a high ratio of concentrate forage in the daily diet, which, in most cases, leaves unfavorable economic margins for the producer, making it necessary to search alternatives for feeding that help to solve this problem. The aim of this work was to evaluate the milk production and quality, and to make an economic analysis of Holstein cows, supplemented with wild sunflower silage (EBO) or corn silage (EMA). Ten Holstein cows with homogeneous characteristics were selected and two groups were formed: one group was supplemented with EMA treatment and the other with EBO, in an over-exchange design. The milk production/cow/day without adjusting and adjusted to 4 % fat, the compositional quality of the milk (% and kg/cow/day), the feed efficiency (EA), the energy efficiency (EE) and an economic analysis was carried out. There were no statistically significant differences (p&gt;0,05) in the consumption of silage dry matter between treatments, but there were in the milk production, the kg of fat and protein/cow/day, and in the EA (p&lt;0,05), with a difference in favor of EBO. Likewise, the cost of production per liter of milk and the difference between sales and costs per cow/day were in favor of the EBO treatment. The results suggest that EBO is a productive and economically viable alternative in the supplementation of lactating cows in the Colombian highland tropic.]]></p></abstract>
