El trazador está basado en el método del camino más corto. La estrategia permite calcular trayectorias de rayos reflejados y refractados simultáneamente, generar rayos con varias fuentes y varios receptores, escoger puntos en interfaces de interés para generar reflexiones en dichos puntos, entre otras. Usando esta aproximación como estrategia de modelado, se implementó una tomografía de tiempos de propagación usando técnicas de reconstrucción algebraica, para estimar velocidades de propagación de ondas en el subsuelo. Se realizaron diferentes experimentos que muestran el comportamiento del trazador de rayos en diferentes escenarios con refracciones y reflexiones, así como los resultados del uso de la técnica de trazado de rayos en problemas de tomografía sísmica, obteniéndose resultados positivos en la identificación de estructuras en el modelo del subsuelo a un costo computacional relativamente bajo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper presents a ray tracing strategy with application to seismic tomography problems. The ray tracing is based on the shortest path method. The strategy allows to calculate trajectories of reflected and refracted rays simultaneously, generate rays with several sources and several receivers, choose points in interfaces of interest to generate reflections in said points, among others. Using this approach as a modeling strategy, a traveltime tomography was implemented using algebraic reconstruction techniques, to estimate wave propagation velocities in the subsoil. Different experiments were performed that show the behavior of the ray tracing in different scenarios with refractions and reflections, as well as the results of the use of the ray tracing technique in seismic tomography problems, obtaining positive results in the identification of structures in the subsoil model at a relatively low computational cost.]]></p></abstract>

O traçador é baseado no método do caminho mais curto. A estratégia permite calcular trajetórias de raios refletidos e refratados simultáneamente, gerar raios com várias fontes e vários receptores, escolha pontos em interfaces de interesse para gerar reflexões nos referidos pontos, entre outros. Usando essa abordagem como uma estratégia de modelagem, uma tomografia de tempos de propagação foi implementada usando técnicas de reconstrução algébrica, estimar velocidades de propagação de ondas no subsolo. Diferentes experimentos foram realizados mostrando o comportamento do traçado de raios em diferentes cenários com refrações e reflexões, obtenção de resultados positivos na identificação de estruturas no modelo do subsolo a um custo computacional relativamente baixo.]]></p></abstract>
