El objetivo del presente estudio es adaptar y validar la Tuckman Procrastination Scale (TPS) en una muestra de 211 estudiantes de educación media superior, integrada por 125 mujeres (59%) y 86 hombres (41%), entre los 15 (45%) y 16 (54%) años. La escala presentó adecuada consistencia interna. Se obtuvo evidencia sobre la validez de constructo a partir del análisis factorial confirmatorio. Su validez predictiva se apoya en las correlaciones significativas y negativas con rendimiento académico, autoeficacia, valor intrínseco, y la positiva, con ansiedad ante las pruebas. Estos resultados avalan la validez de la interpretación de las puntuaciones obtenidas con la escala TPS para esta muestra de adolescentes, lo que permitirá avanzar en la descripción y explicación del fenómeno de procrastinación académica en esta población.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Adolescent dynamics and the demands of secondary school education make it pertinent to carry out research on procrastination, so widespread and studied in university students. The objective of the present study was to adapt and validate the Tuckman Procrastination Scale (TPS) in a sample of 211 high school students, composed of 125 women (59%) and 86 men (41%), aged 15 (45%) and 16 (54%) years. The scale presents adequate internal consistency. Evidence about the construct validity was obtained based on confirmatory factor analysis. The significant and negative correlations with academic performance, self-efficacy, intrinsic value, as well as the positive one with anxiety before the tests, provide evidence of their predictive validity. These results support the validity of the interpretation of the scores obtained with the TPS scale for this sample of adolescents, which will allow advancing in the description and explanation of the academic procrastination in this population.]]></p></abstract>

O objetivo do presente estudo é adaptar e validar a Escala de Procrastinação de Tuckman (Tuckman Procrastination Scale - TPS) em uma amostra de 211 alunos do ensino médio, composta por 125 mulheres (59%) e 86 homens (41%) com 15 (45%) e 16 (54%) anos de idade. A escala apresenta consistência interna adequada. As evidências sobre a validade do construto foram obtidas a partir da análise fatorial confirmatória. Sua validade preditiva é sustentada pelas correlações significativas e negativas com desempenho acadêmico, autoeficácia, valor intrínseco e correlação positiva com a ansiedade perante as provas.
