Sin embargo, el proceso de obtención de plántulas presenta baja uniformidad tanto en la germinación como en el tamaño, lo que dificulta la programación de las labores de cultivo en la producción. Se evaluó el efecto de diferentes tratamientos pregerminativos como la refrigeración, cobertura y diferentes concentraciones de giberelinas en la germinación y obtención de plántulas de arveja. Se empleó un diseño de bloques completamente aleatorizados, cuyo criterio de clasificación fue la cobertura de la bandeja de germinación (con o sin cubierta plástica negra calibre 2). Cada bloque contó con cuatro tratamientos, los cuales son la combinación de dos factores, temperatura de almacenamiento de las semillas (con dos niveles 4 o 16 °C previo a la siembra) y giberelinas (0 o 100 mg.L-1). La utilización de cobertura plástica negra sobre la bandeja de germinación y la inmersión de las semillas previo a la siembra en 100 mg.L-1 mostraron el porcentaje de germinación, potencial de germinación y tiempo medio de germinación (TMG) en semillas de arveja var. Santa Isabel. La refrigeración de las semillas a 4 °C previo a la siembra aumentó el porcentaje de germinación y redujo el TMG. La cubierta plástica, la refrigeración a 4°C y la inmersión en 100 mg.L-1 de giberelinas aumentó la masa fresca y seca de tallos, y la altura de las plántulas, no obstante, la refrigeración a 4 °C, sin giberelinas, y sin cubierta, generó los mayores valores de masa seca y fresca de raíces y hojas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Pea cultivation is important for the local economy in peasant agriculture. However, the process of obtaining seedlings presents low uniformity in germination and size, making it difficult to schedule cultivation tasks in production. The effect of different pregermination treatments such as refrigeration, cover, and different concentrations of gibberellins on germination and the establishment of pea seedlings was evaluated. A completely randomized block design was used, whose classification criterion was the coverage of the germination tray (with or without a black plastic cover caliber 2). Each block had four treatments, which combined two factors, seed storage temperature (with two levels, 4 or 16 °C before sowing) and gibberellins (0 or 100 mg.L-1). The use of black plastic cover on the germination tray and the immersion of the seeds before sowing in 100 mg.L-1 showed the germination percentage, germination potential, and mean germination time (MGT) in pea seeds var. Santa Isabel. Refrigeration of the seeds at 4 °C before sowing increased the germination percentage and reduced the MGT. The plastic cover, refrigeration at 4 °C and immersion in 100 mg.L-1 of gibberellins increased the fresh and dry mass of stems, and the height of the seedlings, however, refrigeration at 4 °C, without gibberellins, and cover, generated the highest values of dry and fresh mass of roots and leaves.]]></p></abstract>
