Dentro de ese contexto, los/as campesinos/as del centro poblado El Tambo del norte del Perú, localizado a tres horas en vehículo en dirección aguas abajo desde la región de Conga, se han organizado para proteger la laguna Mamacocha de las operaciones de la minera.  Metodología:  por medio de una investigación etnográfica realizada entre 2013 y 2014 en el centro poblado El Tambo, observo que la relacionalidad de los/as campesinos/as con la laguna Mamacocha es activada por la realidad de la experiencia vivida con el agua, que comenzó a desaparecer. Las nociones de alimentar y del nacer ahí aparecen en los diálogos con los campesinos y campesinas que enfatizan las relaciones entre las cosechas de papa, los canales de irrigación, las acequias (canales artesanales), los puquios (nacientes) y las lagunas.  Conclusiones: este estudio muestra cómo las diferentes prácticas materializan un mundo con diferencias radicales. Los campesinos diseñan en la y con la tierra, pero, al mismo tiempo, respetan los protocolos con otras entidades y refutan la idea de que están dispuestos a cosechar papa a cualquier costo y con cualquier agua. Al final, las personas del centro poblado El Tambo se alimentan con el agua que porta la vitalidad del nacer ahí, en el alto de las lagunas. No se trata de una mera disputa en la que se consideran las aguas como una naturaleza allá fuera.  Originalidad: el estudio muestra que los conflictos en curso, a veces encuadrados como ambientales, se refieren a conflictos sobre premisas fundamentales sobre lo que es el mundo y la vida.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Objective/Context: The purpose of this paper is to examine ontological differences articulated by people as a result of the operation of an open-pit mine called Conga that would affect lagoons of utmost importance for local residents. In this context, peasants from El Tambo hamlet in northern Peru, a 3-hour drive away downstream from the Conga project area, have organized themselves to protect the lagoon against the mining expansion.  Methodology:  Based on ethnographic research between 2012 and 2014 in El Tambo, I argue that the relationality between the peasants and Mamacocha lagoon emerges from the reality of peasants&#8217; experiences with water that started to become scarce. The concept of &#8220;nourishment&#8221; and &#8220;being born&#8221; appear in dialogues with the peasants, emphasizing the relationship between food crops, irrigation channels, artisanal channels, natural water springs and the lagoons.  Conclusions: This study shows how different practices enact a world with radical differences. In this case, peasants design &#8220;on&#8221; the land and &#8220;with&#8221; the land respecting protocols with other entities, rejecting the idea that they are prepared to harvest potatoes at any cost and with any water. In the end, the inhabitants of El Tambo nourish themselves with water that carries the vitality of being born at the top of the lagoons. It is not a mere dispute in which water is considered a reality that is simply out there.  Originality: This research shows that present conflicts, sometimes categorized as environmental conflicts, are really about fundamental premises about the world and life.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo:  Objetivo/contexto: Este artigo tem como objetivo examinar as diferenças ontológicas mobilizadas pelas pessoas como resultado das ações causadas pelo projeto de mineração a céu aberto denominado Conga, que sacrificaria importantes lagoas para as populações locais. Dentro desse contexto, os/as campesinos/as do centro povoado El Tambo do norte do Peru, localizado a três horas em veículo em direção rio abaixo a partir da região de Conga, organizaram-se para proteger a lagoa Mamacocha das operações da mineração.  Metodologia:  por meio de uma pesquisa etnográfica realizada entre 2013 e 2014 no centro povoado El Tambo, observa-se que a relacionalidade dos/as camponeses/as com a lagoa Mamacocha é ativada pela realidade da experiência vivida com a água, que começou a desaparecer. As noções de alimentar e do nascer aí aparecem nos diálogos com os camponeses e as camponesas que enfatizam as relações entre as colheitas de batata, os canais de irrigação, as acéquias (canais artesanais), os puquios (nascentes) e as lagoas.  Conclusões: Este estudo mostra como as diferentes práticas materializam um mundo com diferenças radicais. Os camponeses desenham na e com a terra, mas, ao mesmo tempo, respeitam os protocolos outras entidades e refutam a ideia de que estão dispostos a plantar batata a qualquer custo e com qualquer água. Ao final, as pessoas do centro povoado El Tambo se alimentam com a água que porta a vitalidade do nascer aí, no alto das lagoas. Não se trata de uma mera disputa na qual as águas são consideradas como uma natureza lá fora.
