Durante la zafra azucarera, el diablo (dueño no humano de los blancos) se debe alimentar de trabajadores humanos para poner en marcha la producción agroindustrial de la empresa Ledesma. Este extractivismo más-que-humano acelerará la intervención de las entidades demoníacas (murciélagos-demonios o un jaguar azul) que, en los albores del fin de este mundo, devorarán a la especie humana. El artículo se enmarca en una investigación etnográfica de larga duración realizada con guaraníes -y pobladores locales no guaraníes- de Jujuy entre los años 2015 y 2019 y sigue el hilo de las conversaciones sostenidas con Jacinto Pïkïtü Aceri, pensador guaraní, quien me condujo del extractivismo a la rebelión de los objetos y al fin de esta humanidad. La predación del diablo contiene profundas reflexiones acerca de la alteridad y el destino de la humanidad; en los mundos indígenas, habitados por múltiples personas, la no humanidad de algunas de ellas -como el diablo, empresarios deshumanizados y demonios míticos- no las coloca por fuera de las negociaciones cosmopolíticas. Más que evocaciones metafóricas o apropiación simbólica de la explotación capitalista, la predación del diablo y las consecuencias sociocosmológicas del extractivismo son tan reales, evidentes y evidenciables en términos nativos, como la dimensión material del capitalismo. En sintonía con los lineamientos de la antropología amerindia contemporánea, tomar en serio la dimensión no humana del extractivismo apunta a la pluralización de la política.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This text explores the cosmopolitical dimension of capitalism in Northwest Argentina. During the sugarcane harvest, the devil (the non-human owner of the whites) must feed on human workers to start up the agro-industrial production of the Ledesma Company. This more-than-human extractivism will accelerate the intervention of demonic entities (demon bats or a blue jaguar) that will devour the human species at the dawn of the end of this world. The article is part of a long term ethnographic study conducted with Guaranis -and local non-Guarani people- from Jujuy, between 2015 and 2019. It follows the thread of the conversations held with Jacinto Pïkïtü Aceri, a Guarani thinker, who led me from extractivism to the rebellion of objects and the end of this humanity. The predation of the devil contains profound reflections about otherness and the destiny of humanity; in the indigenous worlds, inhabited by multiple people, the non-humanity of some of them - like the devil, dehumanized businessmen, and mythical demons - does not place them outside the cosmopolitical negotiations. Beyond metaphorical evocations or symbolic appropriation of capitalist exploitation, the predation of the devil and the socio-cosmological consequences of extractivism are as real, evident and verifiable in native terms, as the material dimension of capitalism. In keeping with contemporary Amerindian anthropology, to take seriously the non-human dimension of extractivism indicates the pluralization of politics.]]></p></abstract>

Durante a colheita do açúcar, o diabo (dono não humano dos brancos) deve se alimentar de trabalhadores humanos para começar a produção agroindustrial da empresa Ledesma. Esse extrativismo mais-que-humano acelerará a intervenção das entidades demoníacas (morcegos-demônios ou um jaguar azul) que, no início do fim deste mundo, devorarão a espécie humana. Este artigo se encontra no âmbito de uma pesquisa etnográfica de longa duração, realizada com guaranis - e povos locais não guaranis - de Jujuy, entre 2015 e 2019, e continua o diálogo estabelecido com Jacinto Pïkïtü Aceri, pensador guarani, que me conduziu do extrativismo à rebelião dos objetos e ao fim desta humanidade. A predação do diabo contém profundas reflexões sobre a alteridade e o destino da humanidade; nos mundos indígenas, habitados por múltiplas pessoas, a não humanidade de algumas delas - como o diabo, empresários desumanizados e demônios míticos - não as exclui das negociações cosmopolíticas. Mais do que evocações metafóricas ou apropriação simbólica da exploração capitalista, a predação do diabo e as consequências sociocosmológicas do extrativismo são tão reais, evidentes e evidenciáveis em termos nativos, quanto a dimensão material do capitalismo. Em consonância com os lineamentos da antropologia ameríndia contemporânea, levar a sério a dimensão não humana do extrativismo indica a pluralização da política.]]></p></abstract>
