Las innovaciones militares han jalonado históricamente el desarrollo tecnológico y la innovación de la industria Esta investigación se enfoca en las tecnologías de la industria 4.0 y su relación con el desarrollo de aplicaciones militares en el contexto actual. Mediante una revisión de la literatura y un estudio bibliométrico con Bibliometrix, se evidencia la relación entre las dificultades multidimensionales para implementar tecnologías y la poca investigación en estos campos. Este es el caso de Latinoamérica, donde se muestran amplias brechas tecnológicas con respecto a los países más desarrollados, lo que genera una fuerte dependencia tecnológica. Así, se concluye que la investigación e innovación en la industria 4.0 y sus aplicaciones militares es una oportunidad estratégica para Latinoamérica, ya que puede impulsar el desarrollo tecnológico, económico y social en la región.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract. Military innovations have historically driven technological development and industry innovation. This research focuses on Industry 4.0 technologies and their relationship with the development of military applications in the current context. A literature review and a bibliometric study using Bibliometrix evidence the relationship between the multidimensional difficulties in implementing technologies and the scarce research in these fields. Compared to more developed countries, there are wide technological gaps in Latin America, generating a strong technological dependence. Thus, it is concluded that research and innovation in Industry 4.0 and its military applications is a strategic opportunity for Latin America, as it can boost the regions technological, economic, and social development.]]></p></abstract>
