Con el fin de estimar el efecto del tercio de lactancia y la época del año sobre el consumo de materia seca total (CMSt) en vacas Holstein que pastoreaban praderas de kikuyo (Cenchrus clandestinus). Se seleccionaron tres vacas de cada tercio ubicadas en cinco hatos lecheros durante una época de lluvias y una época seca del año 2014 (n= 90 vacas). Para la estimación del consumo de materia seca de la pradera (CMSp) se utilizó óxido de cromo como marcador externo y materia seca indigerible como marcador interno. La medición del consumo de materia seca de los suplementos alimenticios (CMSs) se hizo directamente en los comederos durante los ordeños. Los datos fueron analizados en un diseño completamente al azar en un arreglo factorial 3 x 2 mediante el programa estadístico SAS. En general, a medida que avanzó el tercio de la lactancia el CMSs y ei CMSt disminuyeron en tanto que el CMSp presentó una disminución en el segundo tercio y así se mantuvo durante el último tercio. En la época seca el CMSp y el CMSt fueron mayores mientras que el CMSs tendió a ser mayor en la época lluviosa. El CMSp, como porcentaje dei CMSt se incrementó con el avance dei tercio de la lactancia (p&lt;0,01), además, fue mayor en la época seca (p&lt;0,01).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Climate change has been associated with fodder production which alter dry matter intake and milk quality. In order to evaluate the effect of lactation and seasons on the total dry matter intake (TDMI) in Holstein cattle fed with kiku-yu (Cenchrus clandestinus) from Antioquia. Three cows by each third located in five dairy farms were taken during a rainfall season and a dry season in 2014 (n=90 cattle). To estimate f dry matter intake in meadow (CDMM) chromium oxide was used as an external marker and indigestible dry matter as an internal marker. Measurement dry matter intake of feeding supplements (CDMFS) was performed from the feeders during milking routines. Data were analyzed in a completely randomized design in a 3 x 2 factorial by using SAS statistical program. In general, during the third of lactation TDMI and CDMM were higher than CDMFS remined higher only in raining season. CDMM, as percentage of TDMI increased with the lactation during the third period (p&lt;0.01) and higher on dry season (p&lt;0.01).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo A mudança climática tem sido relacionada com a diminuição da produção forrageira, o que tem efeito sobre o consumo de matéria seca e ao mesmo tempo, sobre a produção e qualidade do leite. Com o intuito de determinar o efeito do terço da lactação e da estação do ano sobre o consumo de matéria seca total (CMSt) em vacas holandesas pastejando kikuyo (Cenchrus clandestinus). Três vacas de cada terço de lactação foram selecionadas de cinco rebanhos leiteiros durante a estação chuvosa e uma estação seca do ano 2014 (n = 90 vacas). Para a determinação do consumo de matéria seca da forrageira (CMSf), utilizou-se o óxido de cromo como marcador externo e matéria seca indigestível como marcador interno. A determinação do consumo de matéria seca dos suplementos alimentícios (CMSs), foi realizada diretamente nos cochos durante a ordenha. Os dados foram analisados mediante um delineamento inteiramente casualizado em arranjo fatorial 3 x 2, utilizando o programa estatístico SAS. No geral, à medida que o terço da lactação avançou, o CMSs e o CMSt diminuíram, enquanto que, o CMSf apresentou uma diminuição no segundo terço, mantendo-se até o último terço da lactação. Na estação seca o CMSf e o CMSt foram maiores, enquanto que, o CMSs teve uma tendência a se incrementar na estação chuvosa. O CMSf, como porcentagem do CMSt, incrementou-se com o avanço do terço da lactação (p&lt;0,01), além disso, foi também maior na estação seca (p&lt;0,01).]]></p></abstract>
