<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1909-83672017000200076&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1909-83672017000200076&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1909-83672017000200076&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: El eucalipto es utilizado como fuente de energía renovable y en la elaboración de diversos productos a nivel industrial; desperdiciándose hojas y ramas que por su contenido de material lignocelulósico se pueden convertir en materia prima de productos con aplicaciones específicas, por ello, se realizó el análisis fisicoquímico de las hojas y su hidrolizado, para determinar la viabilidad del sustrato en la producción de xilitol, a través de procesos biotecnológicos. Se evaluaron parámetros fisicoquímicos como humedad, actividad de agua (Aw), sólidos solubles totales (°Brix), termogravimetría (TGA), e infrarrojo (IR FT) a la muestra vegetal, y acidez titulable, pH, azúcares reductores (DNS), °Brix e infrarrojo a los hidrolizados, mostrando resultados que permitieron concluir que la biomasa residual del Eucalipto camaldulensis, es un potencial sustrato en la producción de xilitol a partir de la reducción biotecnológica de azúcares fermentables como la D-xilosa, utilizando levaduras del género Candida.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Eucalyptus is used as a source of renewable energy and the development of several products at industrial level; wasted leaves and branches whose content of lignocellulosic material can be converted into raw material product with specific applications, therefore, physicochemical analysis of leaves and its hydrolyzate was performed to determine the viability of the substrate in the production of xylitol, through biotechnological processes. Physicochemical parameters such as humidity, water activity (Aw), total soluble solids (° Brix), thermogravimetry (TGA), and infrared (IR FT) to the plant sample, and titratable acidity, pH, reducing sugars (DNS) were evaluated, ° Brix and infrared to hydrolysates, showing results led to the conclusion that the residual biomass Eucalyptus camaldulensis, is a potential substrate in the production of xylitol from biotechnological reduction of fermentable sugars such as D-xylose utilizing yeasts Candida.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo: O eucalipto é utilizado como fonte de energia renovável e na elaboração de vários produtos a nível industrial, desperdiçando-se as folhas e galhos que, por seu conteúdo de material lignocelulósico, podem ser convertidos em matéria prima de produtos com aplicações específi cas. Portanto, neste trabalho foi realizado um análise físico-química das folhas e seu hidrolisado, com o objetivo de determinar a viabilidade do substrato na produção de xilitol, através de processos biotecnológicos. Na amostra vegetal, foram avaliados parâmetros físico-químicos como humidade, atividade da água (Aw), sólidos solúveis totais (°Brix), comportamento termogravimétrico (TGA) e de espectroscopia de infravermelho (FTIR). Também foram estudados parâmetros tais como: a acidez titulável, o pH e os açúcares redutores (DNS), °Brix e infravermelho aos hidrolisados, mostrando resultados que permitiram concluir que a biomassa residual do Eucalipto camaldulensis é um substrato potencial para a produção de xilitol a partir da redução biotecnológica de açúcares fermentáveis como D-xilose, usando leveduras do gênero Cândida.]]></p></abstract>
