Esta investigación evaluó la cantidad de C y otras propiedades en un suelo de páramo y agrícola de Cundinamarca. Se determinaron propiedades fisicoquímicas, como densidad aparente, humedad, pH, CO, MO y la variación espacial de la cantidad de carbono. Además, se obtuvo un modelo matemático para estimar la cantidad de carbono fácilmente oxidable. El suelo agrícola presentó una mayor densidad aparente; mientras que el suelo de páramo mostró un mayor contenido de humedad, CO y MO. La cantidad de C del suelo de páramo y agrícola presentó una variación espacial con valores promedios de 93,74 ± 10,76 Mg/ha y 85,92 ± 9,34 Mg/ha, respectivamente, y el modelo matemático es válido estadísticamente solo para suelos de páramo, con un R2 &gt; 92%. Las actividades agrícolas y de conservación impactan la cantidad de C almacenado.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Soils are important for carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation. This research evaluated the C stock and other properties in paramo and agricultural soils from Cundinamarca. Physicochemical properties such as bulk density, moisture, pH, OC, OM, and spatial variation of C stock were determined. Moreover, a mathematical model was used to estimate the amount of easily oxidizable carbon. The agricultural soil presented higher bulk density; meanwhile, the paramo soil showed higher moisture content, OC, and OM. The stock carbon in paramo and agricultural soils showed a spatial variation with average values of 93.74 ± 10.76 Mg/ha and 85.92 ± 9.34 Mg/ha, respectively, and the mathematical model is statistically valid only for paramo soil, with R2 &gt; 92%. Agricultural and conservation activities impact the amount of C stored.]]></p></abstract>
