La búsqueda fue realizada en bases de datos especializadas en el área en estudio. Las palabras clave de la búsqueda incluyeron términos como low back pain, sitting posture, pelvic tilt, entre otras. 2383 artículos fueron seleccionados de acuerdo a la pregunta de revisión planteada y de éstos 228 a partir de los criterios de inclusión establecidos. Se lograron encontrar 17 artículos que permiten identificar las técnicas apropiadas para el estudio de esta postura. La revisión permitió proponer una guía para seleccionar una herramienta que evalúe la postura sedente, con base en las prestaciones que el instrumento ofrece para cumplir con los objetivos del estudio que se desee realizar.]]></p></abstract>

INTRODUCCI&Oacute;N</b></font></p>          <p>Los an&aacute;lisis en tiempo real de las actividades laborales   son un determinante indispensable en los estudios   ergon&oacute;micos, debido a que es necesario estudiar la   postura del cuerpo humano en el trabajo cuando se est&aacute;   ejecutando una tarea. De esta forma no todos los m&eacute;todos   y herramientas existentes pueden ser utilizados con estas   restricciones de uso.</p>     <p>La postura sedente es actualmente una de las m&aacute;s   usadas en las actividades profesionales y de descanso,   adem&aacute;s, existe evidencia que muestra que esta postura   tiene, significativamente, m&aacute;s carga en el raquis que en   postura de pie &#91;<a href="#1">1</a>&#93;. De la misma forma, cuando la actividad   tiene una duraci&oacute;n prolongada se presenta mayor riesgo   relativo de padecer patolog&iacute;as como el dolor lumbar en el   primer a&ntilde;o de trabajo &#91;<a href="#2">2</a>&#93; con una alta &#91;<a href="#3">3</a>, <a href="#4">4</a>&#93; prevalencia.   En consecuencia existe una mayor preocupaci&oacute;n en   el &aacute;mbito de la ergonom&iacute;a por realizar estudios que   involucren esta postura.</p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p>Sin embargo, la selecci&oacute;n adecuada de la herramienta   que permita evaluar la postura sedente durante la   ejecuci&oacute;n de una actividad laboral no es sencilla debido a   las restricciones imperativas de toma de datos en tiempo   real que son necesarios en los estudios ergon&oacute;micos.   As&iacute; estudios realizados a partir de radiograf&iacute;as &#91;<a href="#5">5</a>,   <a href="#6">6</a>&#93;, fotograf&iacute;a &#91;<a href="#7">7</a>, <a href="#8">8</a>&#93; o cad&aacute;veres &#91;<a href="#9">9</a>&#93; pueden permitir   an&aacute;lisis sobre la configuraci&oacute;n &oacute;sea o postural en un   momento dado, pero no permiten realizar un an&aacute;lisis en   tiempo real. Adem&aacute;s, la postura sedente en la mayor&iacute;a   de las actividades laborales como tareas de oficina o   de conducci&oacute;n demandan el uso de espaldares, lo que   implica que las herramientas o t&eacute;cnicas utilizadas no   deben involucrar planos frontales o ser robustas en la   parte de la espalda &#91;<a href="#10">10</a>, <a href="#11">11</a>&#93; ya que influye tanto en la   postura adoptada sobre el asiento, como en los par&aacute;metros   de percepci&oacute;n de dolor o incomodidad. Por &uacute;ltimo es   indispensable en los estudios ergon&oacute;micos que las t&eacute;cnicas   o herramientas utilizadas no sean de car&aacute;cter invasivo,   por cuanto esto modifica la conducta natural del individuo   dentro de su actividad laboral generando sesgos en el   proceso de experimentaci&oacute;n, asimismo, estos estudios   tienen poblaciones reducidas (n=1) &#91;<a href="#12">12</a>, <a href="#13">13</a>&#93; que conlleva   a grandes limitaciones en los resultados obtenidos si se   considera que factores como el &iacute;ndice de masa corporal   (IMC) pueden influir la demanda biomec&aacute;nica cuando se   est&aacute; en esta postura &#91;<a href="#14">14</a>&#93;.</p>     <p>De modo que, la presente revisi&oacute;n pretende identificar,   hasta la fecha, los estudios realizados que contemplan la   evaluaci&oacute;n, validaci&oacute;n y uso de metodolog&iacute;as relacionadas   con la medici&oacute;n la de postura sedente. Por tanto, para   conformar un marco te&oacute;rico amplio se debe responder a   la siguiente pregunta de revisi&oacute;n: &iquest;Cu&aacute;les son los m&eacute;todos   o las herramientas que se utilizan para evaluar postura   sedente? As&iacute;, los resultados obtenidos en esta b&uacute;squeda   agrupan los m&eacute;todos existentes para medir la postura   sedente y distinguir entre an&aacute;lisis en tiempo real o an&aacute;lisis   est&aacute;ticos; de igual forma, entre los m&eacute;todos que pueden   considerarse invasivos o no invasivos para los individuos.</p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><b><font size="3">II. MATERIALES Y M&Eacute;TODOS</font></b></p>     <p><i><font size="3">Par&aacute;metros de b&uacute;squeda</font></i></p>     <p>La identificaci&oacute;n de literatura relevante se realiz&oacute;   mediante una b&uacute;squeda bibliogr&aacute;fica en cuatro bases de   datos distintas: ISI Web of <i>Knowledge</i>, <i>Medline</i>, EBSCO   y <i>ScienceDirect</i>, &eacute;stas se caracterizan porque en ellas se   encuentran art&iacute;culos de revistas centrados en biomedicina,   ciencia y tecnolog&iacute;a. El listado de t&eacute;rminos de b&uacute;squeda   o palabras claves para encontrar los art&iacute;culos cient&iacute;ficos   de inter&eacute;s a la investigaci&oacute;n, se han agrupado en cuatro   columnas como se muestran en la <a href="#tab1">tabla 1</a>. Estos fueron   seleccionados tomando como referencia la pregunta de   revisi&oacute;n y la terminolog&iacute;a empleada en estudios similares   consultados en una etapa preliminar. La forma de realizar   la exploraci&oacute;n consiste en encontrar todas las posibles   combinaciones de los t&eacute;rminos de b&uacute;squeda, mezclando   los t&eacute;rminos de las columnas de la siguiente manera:   A+B+C y A+B+D.</p>       <p align="center"><a name="tab1"></a><a href="img/revistas/rinbi/v6n12/v6n12a05tab1.gif" target="_blank">Tabla 1</a></p>     <p><i><font size="3">Criterios de inclusi&oacute;n - exclusi&oacute;n</font></i></p>     <p>Los criterios de inclusi&oacute;n utilizados corresponden   a estudios que eval&uacute;an la postura sedente. &Eacute;stos deb&iacute;an   estar en ingl&eacute;s o en espa&ntilde;ol principalmente. La fecha de   publicaci&oacute;n de los art&iacute;culos pod&iacute;a variar entre el 1 de enero   de 1970 y el 1 de enero del 2011, y ser estudios realizados   en poblaci&oacute;n adulta. Se excluyeron aquellos estudios   que no respondieran la pregunta de revisi&oacute;n, aquellos   que fueran realizados en posturas distintas a la sedente;   se excluy&oacute; la poblaci&oacute;n infantil, adolescente y adulto   mayor, y aquellos estudios con m&eacute;todos de valoraci&oacute;n por   observaci&oacute;n, y no a partir de la utilizaci&oacute;n de dispositivos   de medida directa.</p>     <p><i><font size="3">Filtros de b&uacute;squeda</font></i></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p>Para la identificaci&oacute;n de literatura relevante el   primer filtro a usarse fue el t&iacute;tulo del estudio, el cual   deb&iacute;a contener o hacer alusi&oacute;n tanto a la pregunta   de investigaci&oacute;n, como a los t&eacute;rminos de b&uacute;squeda.   Seguidamente se hizo una reducci&oacute;n por <i>abstract</i> o   res&uacute;menes de los art&iacute;culos, considerando aquellos cuyos   objetivos estuvieran relacionados a la tem&aacute;tica abordada   en la pregunta de investigaci&oacute;n. Finalmente, se leen los   art&iacute;culos completos, teniendo presente que estos cumplan   con los criterios de inclusi&oacute;n mencionados anteriormente.   Estos estudios conforman el marco te&oacute;rico presentado en   la <a href="#tab2">tabla 2</a>.</p>     <p align="center"><a name="tab2"></a><a href="img/revistas/rinbi/v6n12/v6n12a05tab2.gif" target="_blank">Tabla 2</a></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><b><font size="3">III. RESULTADOS</font></b></p>     <p>La b&uacute;squeda en las bases de datos, realizada del 10   al 29 de Junio de 2011, permiti&oacute; encontrar 2383 art&iacute;culos   cient&iacute;ficos, de los cuales 228 fueron seleccionados por su   t&iacute;tulo; una segunda revisi&oacute;n de los res&uacute;menes permiti&oacute;   reducir el grupo a 39 art&iacute;culos los cuales fueron estudiados   en detalle; de &eacute;stos, 22 fueron descartados al no cumplir   con alguno de los criterios de inclusi&oacute;n &#91;<a href="#15">15</a>-<a href="#30">30</a>&#93;. La   mayor&iacute;a de esos estudios eran centrados en posturas   diferentes a la sedente o trabajos en postura sedente donde   &uacute;nicamente se centraban en medir los resultados de la   actividad que se ejecutaba en esta postura y no la postura   en s&iacute;. Se seleccionaron art&iacute;culos (ver <a href="#fig1">Fig. 1</a>) publicados   entre 1986 y 2011, que proporcionaron la informaci&oacute;n   necesaria para contestar la pregunta de revisi&oacute;n.</p>       <p align="center"><a name="fig1"></a><img src="img/revistas/rinbi/v6n12/v6n12a05fig1.gif"></p>     <p>Los art&iacute;culos identificados se caracterizan por   considerar un sistema de medici&oacute;n de la postura sedente   en diversas actividades donde &eacute;sta es realizada en postura   sedente prolongada, especialmente aquellos que miden la   flexi&oacute;n en la cadera. En la <a href="#tab2">tabla 2</a> se resumen los estudios   relevantes a los prop&oacute;sitos de esta revisi&oacute;n, en la cual se   hizo un &eacute;nfasis en presentar los m&eacute;todos usados en cada   uno de los art&iacute;culos encontrados.</p>     <p>En la <a href="#tab3">tabla 3</a> se sintetizan las t&eacute;cnicas y herramientas   empleadas en los estudios recopilados para evaluar la   postura sedente, especificando para cada una de ellas   las caracter&iacute;sticas principales, ventajas y desventajas.   Esta informaci&oacute;n es complementada en la <a href="#fig2">Fig. 2</a>, donde   se re&uacute;nen cada una de tales t&eacute;cnicas en un diagrama.   En &eacute;l se resalta la EMG (electromiograf&iacute;a superficial),   constituy&eacute;ndose la herramienta m&aacute;s empleada, seguido   del goni&oacute;metro gravitatorio y el goni&oacute;metro est&aacute;ndar,   como los instrumentos m&aacute;s recurrentes a ser usados para la   evaluaci&oacute;n de la postura sedente.</p>       <p align="center"><a name="tab3"></a><a href="img/revistas/rinbi/v6n12/v6n12a05tab3.gif" target="_blank">Tabla 3</a></p>       <p align="center"><a name="fig2"></a><a href="img/revistas/rinbi/v6n12/v6n12a05fig2.gif" target="_blank">Figura 2</a></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p>A partir de la revisi&oacute;n sistem&aacute;tica pueden destacarse   estudios con objetivos diferentes, de los cuales se pueden   resaltar dos grandes grupos como lo demuestra la <a href="#tab4">tabla 4</a>,   orientados a:</p>   <ul type="circle">     <li>El estudio de la activaci&oacute;n y respuesta postural de los   m&uacute;sculos del tronco y/o la pelvis (representando un   47% del total de estudios analizados).</li>     <li>Estudios de validaci&oacute;n de t&eacute;cnicas de medici&oacute;n de   la flexi&oacute;n en la columna y/o pelvis (constituyendo el   53% de los estudios).</li>       </ul>       <p align="center"><a name="tab4"></a><a href="img/revistas/rinbi/v6n12/v6n12a05tab4.gif" target="_blank">Tabla 4</a></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>       <p><b><font size="3">IV. DISCUSI&Oacute;N</font></b></p>       <p>El objetivo de esta revisi&oacute;n sistem&aacute;tica fue identificar   los estudios realizados hasta la fecha que contemplan la   evaluaci&oacute;n, validaci&oacute;n y uso de metodolog&iacute;as relacionadas   con la evaluaci&oacute;n de la postura sedente. Los resultados   obtenidos en esta revisi&oacute;n permitieron hacer una   clasificaci&oacute;n de &eacute;stos de acuerdo al objetivo por los cuales fueron realizados.</p>       <p>Teniendo en cuenta las caracter&iacute;sticas de las herramientas   o t&eacute;cnicas analizadas durante la revisi&oacute;n, se propone un   esquema como gu&iacute;a de selecci&oacute;n de instrumentos de   medici&oacute;n en la flexi&oacute;n de pelvis o cadera. Se considera   caracter&iacute;sticas como la naturaleza de la medici&oacute;n que se   realiza (de acciones o movimientos, es decir en tiempo real   o de posturas est&aacute;ticas); la movilidad de la herramienta   (si debe ser usada en un punto fijo como un laboratorio o   se requiere para trabajo de campo como una herramienta   port&aacute;til o de car&aacute;cter inal&aacute;mbrica); la interacci&oacute;n con el   humano (llegando a ser invasiva o no invasiva para el   individuo sometido a experimentaci&oacute;n); y finalmente, el tipo   de medida que se puede obtener de tal herramienta (&aacute;ngulos,   fuerzas, distancias, etc.). De esta manera se consigui&oacute; graficar el diagrama que se muestra en la <a href="#fig2">Fig.2</a>.</p>       <p>La gu&iacute;a permite determinar la selecci&oacute;n de una   herramienta para evaluar postura sedente a partir de la   discriminaci&oacute;n de situaciones a estudiar. Con base en la   gr&aacute;fica y considerando que en el &aacute;mbito de la ergonom&iacute;a   es m&aacute;s com&uacute;n el uso de instrumentos que permitan   evaluar posturas en tiempo real, se puede establecer   que instrumentos como la electromiograf&iacute;a superficial   tiene una gran aplicaci&oacute;n porque permite registrar la   actividad el&eacute;ctrica ejercida por los m&uacute;sculos, adem&aacute;s   de ser un m&eacute;todo no invasivo. No obstante, la se&ntilde;al de   electromiograf&iacute;a depende de la zona muscular en donde se   ubiquen los electrodos, &eacute;stos deben estar localizados en la   barriga del m&uacute;sculo para evitar sesg os de informaci&oacute;n que   disminuya la validez de los resultados. Adem&aacute;s las se&ntilde;ales   de EMG pueden utilizarse para obtener una aproximaci&oacute;n   general del grado de tensi&oacute;n muscular, sin embargo varios   estudios han mostrado que no existe una relaci&oacute;n directa   entre el incremento del EMG y la intensidad real de la fuerza generada por el m&uacute;sculo &#91;<a href="#48">48</a>-<a href="#50">50</a>&#93;.</p>       ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p>Por &uacute;ltimo otros instrumentos como los goni&oacute;metros   est&aacute;ndares tienen tambi&eacute;n la caracter&iacute;stica de ser m&eacute;todos   no invasivos y f&aacute;ciles de usar, estos tienen un grado de   fiabilidad &#91;<a href="#51">51</a>, <a href="#53">52</a>&#93; entre buena a excelente cuando se usan   como herramienta de medida para las extremidades, sin   embargo tienen la desventaja de no permitir toma de datos   en funci&oacute;n del tiempo. No obstante el desarrollo tecnol&oacute;gico   ha permitido la aparici&oacute;n de los electrogoni&oacute;metros, los   cuales pueden ser fijados a la piel y al ser comparados con   otras t&eacute;cnicas como los inclin&oacute;metros y las curvas flexibles   tienen la ventaja de ser bastantes precisos y permite medir   de forma continua los &aacute;ngulos incluyendo los del tronco,   aunque pueden ser molestos cuando se utilizan espaldares &#91;<a href="#53">53</a>&#93; en la actividad en postura sedente.</p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>       <p><b><font size="3">V. CONCLUSI&Oacute;N</font></b></p>       <p>La revisi&oacute;n realizada permiti&oacute; sintetizar la informaci&oacute;n   y proponer una gu&iacute;a para la selecci&oacute;n de la herramienta de   medici&oacute;n de flexi&oacute;n de cadera, buscando que los estudios   futuros escojan la mejor t&eacute;cnica para evaluar la postura   sedente, de acuerdo al tipo de experimento a realizarse.   En otras palabras, si el estudio pretende encontrar &aacute;ngulos   la mejor herramienta ser&aacute; un goni&oacute;metro o inclin&oacute;metros   digitales, pero si estos &aacute;ngulos requieren ser medidos en   un escenario en movimiento esta herramienta s&oacute;lo ser&aacute;   &uacute;til si funciona de forma inal&aacute;mbrica. Si se desea medir   esfuerzos en la musculatura lumbar en un escenario fijo, la   mejor herramienta es el EMG.
