Dos fuertes reformas han marcado este proceso y han implicado el aumento de instituciones, programas, especializaciones y matrícula. Esto ha provocado que el escenario cambie, por cuanto no solo aumentó la matrícula, sino que también la conformación de la misma, principalmente en el ingreso de estudiantes más vulnerables. Frente a esto es necesario analizar temas de género, calidad, duración y costos, debido a las desigualdades que podrían evidenciarse. El aumento de la participación laboral de las mujeres, mejoramiento de las habilidades e ingresos de grupos socioeconómicos vulnerables y el mejoramiento de niveles de desarrollo tecnológico mediante el capital humano, son elementos fundamentales para el desarrollo de Chile. Dado esto, la presente investigación busca analizar el modelo en profundidad. La data muestra diferencias asociadas a contextos socioeconómicos vulnerables y posibles diferencias en la tasa de término de los programas entre hombres y mujeres. Las diferencias evidenciadas generan la necesidad de aumentar la supervisión y fiscalización en el sistema, más aún si la evidencia internacional muestra un incremento de capital humano y los datos evidencian una posible falencia o desperdicio, en dicho sentido.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Chile has experienced a strong change in higher education since 1980. Two strong reforms have marked this process and have involved the increase of institutions, programs, specializations and registration. This has caused the scenario to change, since not only increased registration but also its conformation, mainly with the entry of more vulnerable students. Faced with this, it is necessary to analyze issues of gender, quality, duration and costs, due to the inequalities that could be evident. Increasing women's labor participation, improving the skills and income of vulnerable socioeconomic groups and improving levels of technological development through human capital are fundamental elements for Chile's development. In this research we seek to analyze the model in depth. The data shows differences associated with vulnerable socioeconomic contexts and possible differences in the termination rate of programs between men and women. The differences evidenced generate the need to increase supervision and oversight in the system, more if the international evidence shows the increase of human capital and the data show a possible failure, or waste, in that sense]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo O Chile experimentou uma grande mudança no Ensino Superior desde 1980. Duas reformas marcaram esse processo e envolveram o aumento de instituições, programas, especializações e número de estudantes. Isso fez com que o cenário mudasse, dado que não só aumentou o número de estudantes, mas também mudou a conformação dessa população, principalmente com a inclusão de alunos mais vulneráveis. Diante disso, é necessário analisar questões de gênero, qualidade, duração e custos, devido às desigualdades que poderiam ser evidentes. Aumentar a participação do trabalho das mulheres, melhorar as habilidades e a renda de grupos socioeconómicos vulneráveis e melhorar os níveis de desenvolvimento tecnológico por meio do capital humano são elementos fundamentais para o desenvolvimento do Chile. A partir disso, a presente pesquisa busca analisar o modelo em profundidade. Os dados evidenciam diferenças associadas a contextos socioeconómicos vulneráveis e possíveis diferenças na taxa de conclusão de graduação entre homens e mulheres. Essas diferenças geram a necessidade de aumentar a supervisão e a fiscalização no sistema, ainda mais se as evidências internacionais apontam para um aumento do capital humano e os dados assinalam uma possível deficiência ou desperdício, nesse sentido.]]></p></abstract>
