<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2145-94442024000200003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2145-94442024000200003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2145-94442024000200003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Se presenta una revisión narrativa de artículos incluidos en la base de indexación Scopus sobre la lectura en voz alta (LVA), con el propósito de hacer un balance de los resultados de investigación en torno los efectos de esta estrategia más allá del campo educativo. Esta revisión permite tener una idea amplia de las posibilidades que la lectura en voz alta abre a los sujetos y los modos en que afecta su bienestar y su desarrollo personal y social. Se seleccionaron 104 artículos de diferentes áreas en los que la LVA es estrategia principal o asociada con otras. Se hacen análisis cuantitativos de años de publicación, revistas, instituciones, áreas temáticas más recurrentes y colaboración entre autores. Así mismo, se describe el tipo de texto leído, el sujeto que lee, la edad y los niveles escolares y las particularidades de la población participante. En los resultados cualitativos se presenta una tipología de los efectos de la lectura en voz alta en seis grupos, en orden de frecuencia: comunicativos, cognitivos, socioemocionales, en comportamiento lector, en rendimiento académico y otros. Finalmente, se definieron de manera inductiva tres grupos de artículos: estudios educativos, estudios terapéuticos y estudios de memoria. Los estudios educativos se enfocan especialmente en las familias, como un espacio para fortalecer lazos y preparar para la vida escolar. En los estudios terapéuticos, la población más frecuente son los ancianos, en quienes los resultados de las investigaciones muestran que la lectura en voz alta permite la recuperación de funciones ejecutivas deterioradas y procesos básicos de atención y memoria. Concretamente, en los estudios de memoria se indican mejores tasas de recuperación de los sujetos cuando leen en voz alta, en comparación con otras estrategias de lectura. El sujeto que se estudia es quien lee por sí mismo, de modo que los efectos en la memoria tienen que ver con la producción de habla y no con la escucha. Los resultados muestran que la producción académica alrededor de la lectura en voz alta es diversa y en crecimiento.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The article is a narrative review of articles on reading aloud included in Scopus. The purpose is doing a balance of results of research regarding reading aloud's effects on education and other areas. This review shows how reading aloud affects wellbeing and personal and social development.104 articles were selected from different areas, in thess articles, reading aloud is either the main strategy or it is associated with others. Quantitative analysis of years of publication, journals, institutions, most recurrent thematic, and collaboration between authors are reported. The types of text being read, the topic of the reading, the age and school levels, and the particularities of population are described. In qualitative results, a typology of effects of reading aloud in six groups is presented, in order of frequency: communicative, cognitive, socio-emotional, reading behavior, academic performance, and others. Finally, three article groups were defined, inductively: educational studies, therapeutic studies, and memory studies. Educational studies focus, especially, on family, to strengthen ties and to prepare for school life. In therapeutic studies, the most frequent population is the elderly; research results show that reading aloud allows the recovery of executive functions and basic processes of attention and memory. Specifically, memory studies show better recovery rates by reading aloud, compared to other reading strategies. Results shows the academic production on reading aloud is diverse and growing.]]></p></abstract>
