Carper en 1978 propuso cuatro patrones de conocimiento: empírico, ético, estético y personal, este último le permite al profesional conocerse a sí mismo para actuar en relación con otros.  Objetivo Identificar las dimensiones del patrón de conocimiento personal a partir de narrativas construidas por Profesores del Programa de Enfermería de la Universidad del Cauca.  Materiales y Métodos Cualitativo fenomenológico. Incluyó: preparación de la recolección de datos, recolección de datos, organización, análisis y síntesis de datos, resumen, implicaciones y resultados. Participaron dos profesoras con sus narrativas al considerarse representativas para el programa en relación a calidad y contenido, se realizaron entrevistas y en el proceso de complementariedad del análisis se desarrollaron grupos focales.  Resultados Los patrones de conocimiento en Enfermería son indivisibles, se pueden identificar a través de narrativas. Las dimensiones del patrón de conocimiento personal en nuestro contexto involucran: 1. Humanización del cuidado revelado a través del conocimiento personal, 2. Confianza para el cuidado, preocupaciones y dudas de las enfermeras, 3. Yo personal, yo profesional en Enfermería: expresión de sentimientos-emociones, roles y creencias 4. Uso terapéutico de sí mismo en Enfermería.  Discusión y Conclusiones Por el vínculo que se establece en las relaciones de cuidado, el conocimiento de sí mismo es fundamental en Enfermería, por lo tanto es importante abordarlo desde la investigación, la educación y la práctica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction Disciplinary knowledge can be evidenced in nursing situations. Carper proposed four patterns of knowledge in 1978: empirical, ethical, aesthetic and personal; the latter allows the professional to know himself/herself to act in relation to others.  Objective This study aims to identify the dimensions of the personal knowledge pattern based on narratives constructed by professors of the Nursing Degree in the Universidad del Cauca.  Materials and Methods A qualitative phenomenological study was conducted, which included the preparation of data collection, data collection, organization, analysis and synthesis, summary, implications and results. Two professors participated with their narratives as they were considered representative for the program in relation to quality and content. In addition, interviews were carried out and focus groups were created in the process of complementarity analysis.  Results The patterns of knowledge in Nursing are indivisible and they can be identified through narratives. The dimensions of the personal knowledge pattern in our context involve 1. Humanization of care revealed through personal knowledge; 2. Confidence for care, concerns and questions from nurses; 3. I as a person, I as a nursing professional: expressing feelings, emotions, roles and believes; 4. Therapeutic use of themselves in nursing.  Discussion and Conclusions Considering the link established in caring relationships, self-knowledge is fundamental in Nursing. Therefore, it is important to address it from a research, education and practice approach.]]></p></abstract>

Carper em 1978 propôs quatro padrões de conhecimento: empírico, ético, estético e pessoal, sendo o último deles aquele que permite ao profissional conhecer-se a si próprio para agir em relação com os outros.  Objetivo Identificar as dimensões do padrão de conhecimento pessoal com base nas narrativas construídas por Professores do Programa de Enfermagem da Universidade del Cauca.  Materiais e Métodos Qualitativo fenomenológico incluindo a preparação da coleta dos dados, coleta dos dados, organização, análise e síntese dos dados, resumo, implicações e resultados. Participaram duas professoras com as suas narrativas sendo que elas são consideradas representativas para o programa em termos de qualidade e o conteúdo, foram realizadas entrevistas e no processo de complementariedade da análise foram constituídos os grupos focais.  Resultados Os padrões de conhecimento em Enfermagem são indivisíveis e podem ser identificados através de narrativas. As dimensões do padrão de conhecimento pessoal em nosso contexto envolvem: 1. Humanização do cuidado revelado através do conhecimento pessoal, 2. Confiança para o cuidado, preocupações e dúvidas das enfermeiras, 3. Eu pessoal, eu profissional em Enfermagem: expressão de sentimentos-emoções, funções e crenças. 4. Uso terapêutico de si próprio em Enfermagem.  Discussão e Conclusões Através do vínculo estabelecido nas relações de cuidado, o conhecimento de si próprio é fundamental na Enfermagem, por tanto, é importante abordá-lo desde a pesquisa, a educação e a prática.]]></p></abstract>
