Se utilizaron el Jacinto de Agua (Eichhornia crassipes) y Lenteja de Agua (Lemna minor), y se realizó un monitoreo durante un mes de las concentraciones de DBO5, DQO, SST y SS en el efluente del sistema. En cuanto a la reducción de los parámetros analizados empleando Jacinto de Agua, hubo un máximo de 91,11% de remoción de DBO5 y 97,32% de DQO. En el caso de la Lenteja de Agua se obtuvo 97% de remoción de DBO5 y 83,67% para DQO. Finalmente, el sistema demostró un desempeño óptimo y eficiencias de remoción superiores al 44,4% en cuanto a materia orgánica, sólidos sedimentables y suspendidos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[SUMMARY This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of the removal of organic matter and solids from a filter system that uses macrophytes in flotation on a laboratory scale, using water from a car wash. Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) and Water Lentil (Lemna minor) were used, and the BOD5, COD, OSS and SS concentrations were monitored for one month in the system&#8217;s effluent. In relation to the reduction of the parameters analyzed using Water Hyacinth, there was a maximum of 91.11% removal of BOD5 and 97.32% removal of COD. In the case of the Water Lentil, 97% removal of BOD5 and 83.67% for COD was obtained. Finally, the system demonstrated optimum performance and removal efficiencies greater than 44.4% in terms of organic matter, sedimentable and suspended solids.]]></p></abstract>
