Por lo anterior los objetivos de esta investigación son, a saber: 1). Determinar la incidencia de la discriminación de olor durante el entrenamiento y certificación final de los caninos detectores de sustancias y 2). Establecer la correlación entre la discriminación de olor, la perseverancia y la alerta, durante las "pruebas ciegas". Los resultados comprueban la hipótesis de realizar pruebas ciegas en el entrenamiento, empleando registros reales y discriminando el olor, se obtiene un mayor número de equipos caninos en la certificación final. Se evidencia que la precisión para discriminar olores objetivo es del 99 % (porcentaje de blancos detectados) y especificidad del 96 % (porcentaje de blancos de forma correcta discriminados), con resultados estadísticamente significativos para la mayoría de las variables comportamentales analizadas de manera individual (p &lt; 0,05) y un nivel de acuerdo entre los evaluadores (Kappa de Cohen) casi perfecto para la mayoría de las pruebas. Se concluye que las señales de alerta en contextos reales, efectuando las pruebas ciegas durante el adiestramiento y certificación final, hacen que los binomios al ser expuestos a ruidos, presencia de personas y otros animales, mejoren sus resultados operacionales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[SUMMARY The Colombia National Police, selects, trains and certifies canine team, determining which dogs are Fit or Not Fit to start training, continue and verify its subsequent performance. Therefore, the objectives of this research were: 1). Determine the incidence of odor discrimination during the training and final certification of canine substances detectors and 2). Establish the correlation between odor discrimination, perseverance and alertness during "blind tests". The results prove the hypothesis that when performing blind tests in training, using real records and discriminating the smell, a greater number of canine equipment is obtained in the final certification. It is evident that the precision to discriminate target odors is 99% (percentage of detected targets) and specificity of 96% (percentage of correctly discriminated targets), with statistically significant results for the majority of the behavioral variables analyzed individually (P &lt; 0,05) and a level of agreement between the evaluators (Kappa de Cohen) almost perfect for most of the tests, concluding that the warning signs in real contexts, carrying out the blind tests during the training and final certification, make the binomials to being exposed to noise, presence of people and other animals, improve their operational results.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[SUMÁRIO A Polícia Nacional da Colômbia seleciona, treina e certifica equipamentos caninos, determinando quais cães são adequados ou não para iniciar o treinamento, continuá-lo e verificar seu desempenho subsequente. Portanto, os objetivos desta pesquisa são, a saber: 1). Determine a incidência de discriminação de odores durante o treinamento e a certificação final das substâncias detectoras caninas e 2). Estabeleça a correlação entre discriminação de cheiro, perseverança e atenção durante "testes cegos". Os resultados comprovam a hipótese de realização de testes cegos em treinamento, utilizando registros reais e discriminando o cheiro, obtendo maior número de equipamentos caninos na certificação final. É evidente que a precisão para discriminar odores-alvo é de 99% (porcentagem de alvos detectados) e especificidade de 96% (porcentagem de alvos corretamente discriminados), com resultados estatisticamente significativos para a maioria das variáveis comportamentais analisadas individualmente (p &lt;0,05) e um nível de concordância entre os avaliadores (Kappa de Cohen) quase perfeito para a maioria dos testes. Conclui-se que os sinais de alerta em contextos reais, realizando testes cegos durante o treinamento e a certificação final, fazem os binômios quando expostos ao ruído, presença de pessoas e outros animais, melhoram seus resultados operacionais.]]></p></abstract>
