<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2422-42002020000200032&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2422-42002020000200032&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2422-42002020000200032&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Este artículo expone los resultados del estudio desarrollado en las unidades de la Policía Metropolitana de Bogotá, Cali y Barranquilla, con el propósito de analizar si existe relación entre los criterios a partir de los cuales se diagnostica síndrome de burnout y el sistema de beneficios e incentivos que la Policía Nacional de Colombia ofrece a los uniformados que laboran en la especialidad de vigilancia. Para esto se utilizó un diseño descriptivo correlacional y se trabajó con una muestra de 1817 policías. Entre los instrumentos que se aplicaron se encuentran el inventario Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) y la Encuesta Institucional de Beneficios e Incentivos; la correlación se realizó mediante la prueba estadística rho de Spearman. No se encontró prevalencia del síndrome de burnout en la población en estudio y más de la mitad de los policías manifestó en el último año haber recibido uno o más beneficios e incentivos. En la correlación se encontró que el único beneficio que logra disminuir los niveles de desgaste emocional y el cinismo son las actividades recreodeportivas; en materia de incentivos, son las felicitaciones en público las que mitigan el desgaste emocional. Se hace necesario y oportuno que se realicen intervenciones psicosociales que permitan reducir los niveles de desgaste emocional y cinismo, con el propósito de mejorar la calidad de vida y el bienestar de los policías, ya que de no hacerlo los niveles de agotamiento emocional y despersonalización podrían aumentar al punto de exacerbar los signos y los síntomas propios del síndrome.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This article presents the results of the study carried out in the units of the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, Cali and Barranquilla, in order to analyze whether there is a relationship between the criteria from which burnout syndrome is diagnosed and the benefits and incentives system that the Colombian National Police offers to the uniformed workers who work in the surveillance specialty. For this, a descriptive correlational design was used along with a sample of 1,817 police officers. Among the instruments applied included the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) and the Institutional Survey of Benefits and Incentives; the correlation was performed using the Spearman's Rho statistical test. No prevalence of burnout syndrome was found in the study population and more than half of the police officers stated that in the last year they had received one or more benefits and incentives. In the correlation it was found that the only benefit that reduces the levels of emotional exhaustion and cynicism are recreational activities. In terms of incentives, being congratulated in public seems to mitigate emotional burnout. It is necessary and opportune that psychosocial interventions are carried out to reduce the levels of emotional exhaustion and cynicism, in order to improve the quality of life and well-being of the police; otherwise, the levels of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization could increase to the point of exacerbating the signs and symptoms of the syndrome.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO Este artigo apresenta os resultados do estudo realizado nas unidades da Polícia Metropolitana de Bogotá, Cali e Barranquilla, a fim de analisar se existe uma relação entre os critérios pelos quais a síndrome de burnout é diagnosticada e o sistema de benefícios e incentivos que a Polícia Nacional da Colômbia oferece aos uniformizados que trabalham na vigilância. Para isso, foi utilizado um desenho correlacional descritivo e uma amostra de 1.817 policiais. Entre os instrumentos aplicados estão a Pesquisa de Inventário Geral Maslach Burnout (MBI-GS) e a Pesquisa Institucional de Benefícios e Incentivos; a correlação foi realizada pelo teste estatístico rho de Spearman. Não foi encontrada prevalência da síndrome de burnout nos policiais analisados e mais da metade declarou no último ano que havia recebido um ou mais benefícios e incentivos. Na correlação, verificou-se que o único benefício que reduz os níveis de desgaste emocional e o cinismo são as atividades esportivas; em termos de incentivos, são as congratulações públicas que amenizam o desgaste emocional. É necessário e oportuno que intervenções psicossociais sejam realizadas para reduzir os níveis de desgaste emocional e cinismo, a fim de melhorar a qualidade de vida e o bem-estar da polícia, pois, caso contrário, os níveis de exaustão emocional e despersonalização poderiam aumentar a ponto de acentuar os sinais e sintomas da síndrome.]]></p></abstract>
