<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2422-42002021000200008&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2422-42002021000200008&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2422-42002021000200008&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Este estudio evaluó la eficacia de una intervención virtual enfocada en el mejoramiento de la autoestima y el bienestar en adolescentes de los colegios de la Policía Nacional mediante la investigación cuasi experimental con 194 estudiantes (Rango de edad: 12-17 años, M = 13.76 años, D.E. = 1.089; 58.4 % mujeres) asignados aleatoriamente por grupos. La intervención consistió en cuatro encuentros sincrónicos, un taller para padres, una asesoría individual y un cuadernillo de actividades asincrónicas, basado en la teoría de acción razonada/planeada y el modelo ecológico de Bronfenbrenner. Los participantes respondieron el Cuestionario para la Evaluación de Problemas en Adolescentes Q-PAD antes y después de la intervención. Los resultados del análisis, con 135 estudiantes que finalizaron la intervención (70 caso y 65 control), mostraron que los estudiantes intervenidos presentaron menor incertidumbre frente al futuro y niveles de depresión mínimos en comparación con el grupo control. La autoestima y el bienestar evidenciaron un aumento, aunque no fue estadísticamente significativo respecto al control. Se discuten las lecciones aprendidas y se dan recomendaciones para mejorar la intervención. Se concluye que la intervención es adecuada para reducir la incertidumbre y depresión en adolescentes, lo que podría incidir posteriormente en mejorar la autoestima y el bienestar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This study aimed to assess the efficacy of a virtual intervention focused on enhancing self-esteem and wellbeing in teenagers of the national police academy schools, with a quasi-experimental study with 194 students (Age range: 12-17 years, M = 13.76 years, S.D. = 1.089; 58.4 % women) randomly as-signed by groups. The intervention consisted in four synchronic meetings, a workshop for parents, an individual counseling and a notebook for asynchronous activities. The intervention was based on the reasoned/planned action theory, and Bronfenbrenner's ecological model. Participants completed the Questionnaire for the Assessment of Psychopathology in Adolescents pre and post intervention. Results with 135 students that finished the intervention (70 experimental and 65 control) showed that those who received the intervention showed less uncertainty about the future and depression than those in the control group. Self-esteem and wellbeing slightly increased, but it was not statistically significant compared to control. Learned lessons are discussed and recommendations for improvement of the intervention are given. This study concluded that the intervention is feasible to reduce the levels of uncertainty and depression in adolescents, which could later have an impact on improving self-esteem and well-being.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a eficácia de uma intervenção virtual focada na melhoria da autoestima e do bem-estar em adolescentes de escolas da Polícia Nacional, com um estudo quase experimental com 194 alunos (faixa etária: 12-17 anos, M = 13.76 anos, DE = 1.089; 58.4% mulheres) distribuídos aleatoriamente por grupos. A intervenção experimental consistiu em 4 fases asincrónicas, uma oficina para pais, uma assessoria individual e um caderninho de atividades assíncronas baseado na teoria da ação racional/planejada e no modelo ecológico do Bronfenbrenner. Os participantes responderam ao Questionário de Avaliação de Problemas em Adolescentes Q-PAD antes e após a intervenção. Resultados com 135 alunos que completaram a intervenção (70 caso e 65 controle) mostraram que aqueles que receberam a intervenção mostraram menor incerteza em relação ao futuro e depressão do que aqueles no grupo controle. A autoestima e o bem-estar apresentaram aumento, embora não estatisticamente significativo em relação ao controle. As lições aprendidas são discutidas e recomendações são feitas para melhorar a intervenção. Este estudo concluiu que a intervenção é viável para reduzir a incerteza e a depressão em adolescentes, o que pode ter impacto na melhoria da autoestima e bem-estar.]]></p></abstract>
