En una de estas colisiones, su brazo se engancha con parte de la estructura del edificio desde el cual cae. El cuerpo termina su movimiento en el interior de un pasillo, no en la parte más baja del edificio. Tales condiciones hacen singular al caso. Este tipo de herramientas son útiles para evaluar hipótesis en investigaciones forenses, por lo que requieren seguir etapas bien definidas en la construcción del escenario y el establecimiento de condiciones iniciales. Después, se deben evaluar diferentes intentos de simulación hasta alcanzar los datos de entrada que permitan obtener la recreación más coherente con las evidencias, especialmente en la producción de lesiones graves, como fracturas. Además, es fundamental evaluar la estabilidad de la simulación ante pequeñas variaciones en los parámetros iniciales, así como analizar los valores de desplazamiento, velocidad y aceleración durante el incidente, ya que estos datos se pueden asociar con momentos específicos de la producción de las evidencias. Por último, para evaluar el software se describe una prueba simple de simulación que muestra la concordancia entre los resultados numéricos y la teoría de la física de cuerpos en caída libre.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The methodological details of a numerical computer simulation modelling the fall of a person who suffers several collisions during their descent are presented. In one of these collisions, their arm makes contact with a portion of the structural framework of the building from which they are falling. The body ultimately reaches a point of rest within a corridor, rather than at the lowest point of the building. Such circumstances render the case distinctive. Such tools are useful for evaluating hypotheses in forensic investigations, and thus require the adherence to a clearly defined set of steps in the construction of scenarios and the establishment of initial conditions. Subsequently, the simulation must be evaluated until the input data that allows for the most coherent recreation with the evidence, particularly in regard to serious injuries such as fractures, is reached. Furthermore, it is crucial to assess the resilience of the simulation to minor alterations in the initial parameters. Additionally, the values of displacement, velocity, and acceleration during the incident must be examined, as these data can be linked to specific instances in the formation of evidence. Finally, to evaluate the software, a basic simulation test is presented to demonstrate the alignment between the numerical outcomes and the theoretical physics of falling bodies.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo São apresentados os detalhes metodológicos de uma simulação numérica computadorizada que modela a queda de uma pessoa, que sofre várias colisões durante sua descida. Em uma dessas colisões, seu braço prende parte da estrutura do edifício do qual ele cai. O corpo termina seu movimento dentro de um corredor, e não na parte inferior do edifício. Essas condições tornam o caso único. Esse tipo de ferramenta é útil para avaliar hipóteses em investigações forenses e, portanto, exigem etapas bem definidas na criação de cenários e no estabelecimento de condições iniciais. Posteriormente, diferentes tentativas de simulação devem ser avaliadas até conseguir os dados de entrada que permitam obter a recriação mais consistente com as evidências, especialmente na produção de lesões graves, como fraturas. Além disso, é essencial avaliar a estabilidade da simulação a pequenas variações nos parâmetros iniciais, bem como analisar os valores de deslocamento, velocidade e aceleração durante o incidente, pois esses dados podem ser associados a momentos específicos da produção da evidência. Por fim, para avaliar o software, é descrito um teste de simulação simples para mostrar a concordância entre os resultados numéricos e a teoria da física de corpos em queda livre.]]></p></abstract>
