En relación con la enseñanza, conocer las concepciones sobre la relación entre raza y biología que sostienen los estudiantes permitirá elaborar estrategias acordes para intervenir en este tema tan complejo. En este artículo presentamos un cuestionario, junto con su validación, que permite recolectar información sobre las concepciones de estudiantes de profesorado y docentes en ejercicio sobre la cuestión de las razas o etnias humanas. Además, permite identificar algunos supuestos esencialistas asociados a estas concepciones. Para validar el cuestionario se utilizó una muestra de 552 docentes formados y en formación en el área de biología y ciencias sociales, así como del juicio de once expertos. Se realizaron análisis de consistencia interna y análisis factorial exploratorio. Consideramos que este cuestionario será de importancia para la investigación en didáctica, dado que las concepciones de raza suelen impactar en la manera en que se aborda la temática del racismo en las clases de biología.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The issue of race is often structural in our societies. In the context of education, understanding students' conceptions about the relationship between race and biology will help develop appropriate strategies to address this complex topic. In this article, we present a questionnaire, along with its validation, that gathers information on the conceptions held by teacher education students and practicing teachers regarding human races or ethnicities. Furthermore, it identifies some essentialist assumptions associated with these conceptions. The questionnaire was validated using a sample of 552 trained and teachers in training in the fields of biology and social sciences, as well as the input of 11 experts. Internal consistency and exploratory factor analyses were conducted. We believe this questionnaire will be valuable for research in didactics, as conceptions of race often influence how the topic of racism is addressed in biology classes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo A questão racial costuma ser estrutural em nossas sociedades. No contexto da educação, compreender as concepções dos estudantes sobre a relação entre raça e biologia permitirá desenvolver estratégias adequadas para intervir nessa complexa questão. Neste artigo, apresentamos um questionário, juntamente com a sua validação, elaborado para coletar informações sobre as concepções de professores em formação e de professores em exercício sobre a questão das raças ou etnias humanas. Além disso, o instrumento permite identificar alguns pressupostos essencialistas associados a essas concepções. O questionário foi validado com uma amostra de 552 professores formados e em formação nas áreas de biologia e ciências sociais, além do julgamento de 11 especialistas. Foram realizadas análises de consistência interna e análise fatorial exploratória. Consideramos que este questionário será de importância para pesquisas em didática, pois as concepções de raça costumam influenciar a forma como o tema racismo é abordado nas aulas de biologia.]]></p></abstract>
