El objetivo de este artículo es retomar dicho problema, pero reestructurarlo sobre la dicotomía desarrollo/adopción de tecnología. En la actualidad, los países desarrollados se han especializado en la provisión de tecnología a nivel internacional, mientras que la industrialización tecnológicamente dependiente de los países en desarrollo genera que estos persistan con términos de intercambios desfavorables (debido el carácter concentrado de la oferta tecnológica a nivel internacional), lo que afecta sus posibilidades de desarrollo. <abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The structuralist doctrine of economic thought has always contemplated the problem of how countries specialise in terms of the international division of labour as an obstacle that hinders periphery countries&#8217; economic development. The purpose of this paper is to rethink the problem posed by classical structuralism, restructuring it based on the development vs. adoption of technology dichotomy. Recently, developed countries have become international specialists in technology provision, while the technologically dependent industrialization of developing countries has generated unfavourable terms of trade (due to the concentrated nature of the technology available on an international level), which affects their development prospects. <abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Résumé La doctrine structuraliste en économie a toujours analysé le problème de la spécialisation des pays dans la division internationale du travail comme un obstacle au développement économique des pays périphériques. Dans le présent article on reprend ce problème en le restructurant sur la dichotomie développement/adoption de technologie. Aujourd&#8217;hui, les pays développés se sont spécialisés dans la fourniture de technologie au niveau international, tandis que l&#8217;industrialisation technologiquement dépendante des pays en développement a comme conséquence que ces derniers perdurent dans des termes d&#8217;échanges défavorables (en raison du caractère concentré de l&#8217;offre technologique au niveau international), ce qui affecte négativement leurs possibilités de développement.
