An abundance of Ascomycota (35.9 %) greater than that of Basidiomycota (2.9 %) was found, as well as a high abundance of unclassified sequences (60 %) due to the limited availability of data. The most abundant family was Saccharomycetales fam Incertae sedis (Ascomycota), although 40 % of the sequences could not be classified at this taxonomic level, while Sporidiobolaceae was the most abundant family in Basidiomycota. A variety of genera within Ascomycota and Basidiomycota was observed, including yeasts and filamentous fungi with differences between sampling areas. The results show that the endophytic mycobiota of T. testudinum includes previously undescribed genera, whose interaction with the host and their role in maintaining the health of these seagrass beds in the Colombian Caribbean are unknown.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Se evaluó la presencia de hongos endófitos en hojas de Thalassia testudinum a través de la secuenciación de la bserv ITS. Se encontró una abundancia mayor de Ascomicetos (35,9 %) que de Basidiomicetos (2,9 %) y un alto porcentaje (60 %) de secuencias no clasificadas dada la limitada disponibilidad de datos. La familia más abundante fue Saccharomycetales fam Incertae sedis (ascomicetos), aunque 40 % de las secuencias no pudieron ser identificadas a este nivel taxonómico, mientras que la familia más abundante de basidiomicetos fue Sporidiobolaceae. Se bserve una variedad de géneros en Ascomycota y Basidiomycota, incluyendo levaduras y hongos filamentosos con diferencias entre áreas de muestreo. Los resultados muestran que la bserve ma endófita de T. testudinum incluye géneros no descritos previamente, cuya interacción con el hospedero y su papel en el mantenimiento de la salud de las praderas de pastos marinos en el Caribe colombiano se desconoce.]]></p></abstract>
