La metodología del estudio es de enfoque cualitativo y carácter descriptivo-comprensivo, a partir de ocho visitas de campo, revisión de dos documentos institucionales y 15 entrevistas en profundidad con actores educativos locales. Los resultados muestran las tensiones entre lo &#8220;urbano&#8221; y lo &#8220;rural&#8221; como categorías sociales, más que geográficas, y cómo la administración pública de la ciudad las ha profundizado. También dejan ver un claro posicionamiento de la comunidad local por mantener la legitimidad de su territorialidad escolar y consolidar el sentido de identidad y exclusividad de la cultura campesina.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The article discloses how a public educational institution, located in the peripheral rural area of &#8203;&#8203;Bogotá (Colombia), experiences and faces the dynamics that the city&#8217;s urban expansion prompts in the school and its surroundings. The study method has a qualitative approach and a descriptive-comprehensive nature. It is based on eight field visits, a review of two institutional documents, and 15 in-depth interviews with local educational agents. The results point to the tensions between &#8220;urban&#8221; and &#8220;rural&#8221; as social rather than geographic categories and how the city&#8217;s public administration has heightened them. They also show the local community&#8217;s prominent position of maintaining the legitimacy of its school territoriality and furthering the peasant culture&#8217;s sense of identity and exclusivity.]]></p></abstract>
