Es un pasto leñoso que ha sido denominado el acero vegetal gracias a las propiedades de flexibilidad, dureza y elasticidad que permite su uso a nivel industrial como un insumo para fabricar tablones de guadua laminada (glued laminated guadua), los cuales pueden ser usados para fabricar vigas y otros elementos estructurales requeridos por la arquitectura.  Método:  En este caso se documentó un diseño de distribución en planta mediante la metodología SLP (por sus siglas en inglés de Systematic Layout Planning), tomando como caso de estudio la empresa Guadua Viga, donde se caracterizaron y se analizaron los procesos de la empresa, se definieron los requerimientos iniciales y se realizó el diseño de la distribución en planta. Por último, se evaluó la propuesta en términos de costos.  Resultados:  Se plantearon tres propuestas de distribución en planta de acuerdo con las necesidades de la empresa y del proceso de producción de tableros de guadua laminada. Además, se evaluaron las alternativas en términos de eficiencias.  Conclusiones:  La alternativa que fue propuesta requiere de 4.148 m2, cuenta con una eficiencia de 89% respecto al flujo de materiales y un 62% de eficiencia respecto al flujo de materiales y adyacencia.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Context: The guadua Angustifolia Kunth is a plant derived from bamboo, it is a woody grass that has been identified as vegetable steel, thanks to its properties of flexibility, hardness and elasticity that allows its use at an industrial level as an input for manufacturing planks which are made of laminated guadua (Guadua laminated with glue) that can be used to manufacture beams and other structural elements required by architecture.  Method: In this case, the plant distribution design document was used using the SLP (systematic design planning) methodology, taking the company Guadua Viga as a case of study, where the company processes are characterized and analyzed, the initial requirements were defined and the design of the distribution in the plant was carried out, finally the proposals were evaluated in terms of costs  Results: 3 distribution proposals were made according to the needs of the company and the production process of laminated guadua boards and the alternatives were evaluated in terms of efficiencies.  Conclusions: The alternative that was proposed requires 4.148 m2, has an efficiency of 89% regarding the flow of materials, 62% efficiency regarding the flow of materials and adjacency.]]></p></abstract>
