Los diseños experimentales inadecuados pueden causar problemas en la estimación de los parámetros del modelo y/o entrar en conflicto con la práctica común de laboratorio u otras directrices establecidas. En este artículo se considera el problema de la construcción de diseños óptimos aumentados bajo restricciones para superar estas dificultades. La técnica propuesta por Parker (2005) sugiere generar diseños experimentales que cumplen con ser óptimos de acuerdo con los criterios de diseño tradicional y prácticos de acuerdo con los criterios impuestos por un investigador a través del uso de las funciones de deseabilidad. En este artículo se presentan las pautas generales para la elección adecuada de las funciones de deseabilidad que intervienen en la obtención de los diseños óptimos penalizados con características deseables. Además, se ilustra la metodología propuesta con el modelo de Michaelis-Menten y se comparan los diseños obtenidos a partir de diferentes funciones de deseabilidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Experimental design is a key stage of any study, as it directly influences the quality of inferences that can be drawn from the data. Inadequate experimental designs can cause problems in the estimation of the model parameters and/or get in conflict with common laboratory practice or other established guidelines. In this paper we consider the problem of construction augmented optimal designs under constraints to overcome these difficulties. The technique proposed by Parker (2005) suggests generate experimental designs that fulfill to be both optimal in accordance with traditional design criteria and practical according to constraints imposed by an investigator through the use of desirability functions. In this paper we present general guidelines for choosing appropriate desirability functions involved in obtaining optimal designs penalized with desirable characteristics. Furthermore, the proposed methodology is illustrated with MichaelisMenten model and we compare designs obtained from different desirability functions.]]></p></abstract>

Desenhos experimentais inadequados podem causar problemas em estimar os parâmetros do modelo e/ou conflitos com a prática comum de laboratório ou outras diretrizes. Este artigo considera o problema da construção de desenhos ótimos maiores sob as restrições para superar essas dificuldades. A técnica proposta por Parker (2005) sugere gerar desenhos experimentais que atendam ser o ideal de acordo com os critérios do desenho tradicional e prático de acordo com os critérios impostos por um investigador através do uso de funções de desejabilidade. Neste artigo, são presentadas orientações gerais para a eleçâo adequada das funções de desejabilidade envolvidas na obtenção de desenhos ótimos penalizados com características desejáveis. Além disso, se mostra a metodologia proposta com o modelo de Michaelis-Menten e são comparados com os desenhos obtidos a partir de diferentes funções de desejabilidade.]]></p></abstract>
