Abstract

PALACIO VALENCIA, María Cristina. Between Nuclearization and the Diversity of Family Organizations. Trab. soc. [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.2, pp.21-45. ISSN 2256-5493.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v22n2.80866.

The article presents the construction of a critical argument regarding the naturalization of the so-called nuclear family. Under a sociological approach, doubt is cast on the naturalized arguments by the hegemonic model about the nuclear family in order to consecutively recognize the diversity of family organizations. The strong roots of the representation of the family both individually and socially results in the rise -based on a framework of listening, conversations and writings- of ambiguities and expectations derived from personal feelings as well as from conceptions and representations about life, from which fragilities that trigger deep cultural and political tensions are derived.

Keywords : diversity; family; familiar crisis; family organizations; nuclear family; politicization of the family theme.
