Abstract

CASTELLANOS DOMINGUEZ, Oscar Fernando. Technology management: a conceptual approach and views regarding development. Innovar [online]. 2003, vol.13, n.21, pp.197-212. ISSN 0121-5051.

Organisation management is becoming more and more bound by its role of interpreting technology. This article tries to establish the management-technology relationship’s different dimensions by referring to different national and international authors to show that their dependency and insolubility is becoming greater. The foregoing has led to the emergence of technological management, which has become a vital, priority component of the global management of those organisations which want to be competitive in the information (knowledge) era. Analysing some of the most representative work done in Colombia concerning the topic shows that different research is not integrated nor is there any continuity; it also highlights the limited impact of academicallygenerated projects. The possibility of carrying out research and development (R&D) in technology management leads to challenges being assumed by both technology management and its R&D (defined at the end of the article), taking the previously proposed methodology resulting from the collected experience of the emerging Bio-management Research Line as reference.

Keywords : Technological management; technology; research and development.
