Abstract

PARDO MERCADO, Jesús David  and  ORJUELA ALBARRACIN, Darling Jeaneth. REFLECTIONS ON EQUITY IN COLOMBIAN EDUCATION: AN APPROACH TO THE “SABER 11” TESTS OF 2022 FROM THE CONCEPTUAL PERSPECTIVE OF PIERRE BOURDIEU. anal.polit. [online]. 2023, vol.36, n.107, pp.128-173.  Epub Feb 17, 2024. ISSN 0121-4705.  https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v36n107.112553.

This study analyzes the relationship between the results of the “Saber 11” tests and various sociodemographic variables based on some theoretical elements of Pierre Bourdieu. To do this, this study explores the way in which notions such as cultural capital, habitus, economic capital or field allow us to understand the results of this type of standardized tests. The research seeks to shed light on the way in which certain factors outside the strictly academic sphere could be associated with performance in such tests and the way in which these could contribute to the reproduction and perpetuation of social inequalities.

Keywords : cultural capital; Saber 11; associated factors; standarized tests; Pierre Bourdieu.
