Abstract
MEJIA AZUERO, JEAN CARLO and RESTREPO RAMIREZ, ALEXANDER. Digital transition in judicial training and practice: Benefits and challenges. Rev. Derecho [online]. 2023, n.60, pp.90-108. Epub Feb 13, 2024. ISSN 0121-8697. https://doi.org/10.14482/dere.60.001.416.
This article shows a critical and propounder review of the increasing trend of using information and communication technologies (ICT) in judicial training and the justice administration in Colombia. The approach is carried out through probiem-based research, as an descriptive-analytical approach to possible research areas based on the initial training programs at "Rodrigo Lara Bonilla" Judicial School. It is analyzed how, although ICT and virtual and b-learning modalities represent broad advantages compared to traditional transmissionist or dogmatic face-to-face training models, such benefits must be evaluated depending on factors such as quality, transparency and equity, not only from juditial training system but also the administration of justice. It is concluded that, due to the high demand for judicial services and the need for flexibility in the training of judges and magistrates, the opportunities with the digital transition for judicial training and practice are greater than the risks. However, such transitions must be fully thought in a pedagogical and ethical background.
