Abstract

CUETO RUA, Santiago. HIJOS OF VICTIMS OF STATE TERRORISM: JUSTICE, IDENTITY, AND MEMORY IN ARGENTINA'S HUMAN RIGHTS MOVEMENT. hist.crit. [online]. 2010, n.40, pp.122-145. ISSN 0121-1617.

This article analyzes HIJOS, the human rights organization comprised of children of the victims of state terrorism in Argentina. It examines some of the distinctive characteristics of this group, particularly with regard to the ruptures and continuities with the practices of the human rights movement. It analyzes how the group emerged, shaped its collective identity, formulated its demands for justice, and tells stories about the recent past.
