INCLAN, Daniel. Inconvenient Truth. Male Reactions to the University Women's Movement at UNAM. Nómadas [online]. 2020, n.53, pp.259-267. Epub July 05, 2021. ISSN 0121-7550. https://doi.org/10.30578/nomadas.n53a15.
In Mexico, women's collectives construct interpretations on the framework that underlies the social fabric making violence possible. Among them, the university collectives consolidate a revolt to demonstrate the patriarchal domination that governs universities operations, particularly at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). The men questioned react with no empathy, while women's demands are met with conservative responses. This text analyzes these reactions and their reasons. It concludes by highlighting the importance to a response to this problem on the part of men, as much or more relevant than the institutional reaction.
