Abstract

AVILA RODRIGUEZ, Adela. On The Germination of the Uncanny: Beauty in a Broken Mirror. La Palabra [online]. 2014, n.24, pp.99-109. ISSN 0121-8530.

The present article seeks to track the writing of abjection and cruelty in the Elfriede Jelinek´s work, at the same time as it searches for the roots that this reading leaves in the author´s own creative writing process. Writing from abjection becomes a constant beat, a drive of life that sometimes is camouflaged with death. The reading of texts marked by the uncanny creates a braid inside oneself, forming a dance of agonic discourse that brings with it a critique, a feeling, a breath, and a desire for creation amidst ashes of flesh, letters and ink.

Keywords : Abjection; cruelty; Elfriede Jelinek; writing; reading; desire; creation; woman.
