Abstract

FALGUERA, José L.. OF WHAT INCOMMENSURABLE THEORIES HAVE IN COMMON. discus.filos [online]. 2008, vol.9, n.12, pp.13-35. ISSN 0124-6127.

In this paper the two main characterizations of inter-theoretic incommensurability are explained, and the problem of how to determine what allegedly have in common two incommensurable theories is deal with. The elucidation of this problem, by using the second characterization, will be developed with the help of the structural meta-theory. This Project is relevant since an interesting comparison between two incommensurable theories only has sense if, in fact, they deal with something common.

Keywords : Kuhn; incommensurability; comparison of theories; structuralism.
