Abstract
STEELE GARZA, José Guadalupe. Police mediation a protocol for the prevention of crime and culture of peace. Justicia [online]. 2018, n.34, pp.471-489. ISSN 0124-7441. https://doi.org/10.17081/just.23.34.3403.
The police mediation aims to establish a new orientation in the daily activities of public security. It is postulated as an irreversible alternative to the classic currents of the imposition of punishment. Political and social transformation in communities requires new forms of operational action to satisfy public safety. Police mediation is viable and feasible for the reconstruction of interpersonal and intergroup relations that strengthens social capital, preventing antisocial behaviors. The police mediation supposes a new protocol of intervention more proactive than reactive, that attends and understands the differences of the community, but with emphasis to the culture of the dialog and healthy coexistence.
