The central purpose of this article is to carry out an analysis of the perception of civil society regarding citizen participation in different democratic scenarios, such as the social demonstrations that have occurred in the country in recent years. Society's perceptions were one of the results of the main research, which sought to evaluate different topics of great national, departmental and local relevance. The topic was addressed through probabilistic sampling according to the type of research, and according to the design, it is stratified; allowing to study the functioning of democracy at the territorial level. This research was developed from a conceptual approach in relation to democracy as a form of government; Likewise, issues relating to the participation of society within the democratic scenario and finally, the variables analyzed from the data obtained in the research are described.
