Abstract
SOTO-RIOS, Edison; PEREZ-GONZALEZ, Ernesto and HERRERA-MURCIA, Javier. Design and construction of a reduced scale model to measure lightning induced voltages over inclined terrain. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2015, vol.82, n.192, pp.160-167. ISSN 0012-7353. https://doi.org/10.15446/dyna.v82n192.48611.
In this paper the design and construction of a reduced scale model indented to be used for measuring lightning induced voltages on overhead lines placed over inclined terrain is presented. The paper includes details about the voltage impulse source developed and used in obtaining fast front current surges along the reduced scale lightning channel. The experiment, although, it is only a first approximation of the phenomenon, is useful to validate exact expressions and simulation results obtained from several numerical methods. Additionally, several simulations are made by means of the FDTD method, which have the aim of showing the expected measurements of the reduced scale model.
