LEON PALACIOS, PAULO CÉSAR. The Ambivalent Relationship between the M-19 and the Anapo. Anu. colomb. hist. soc. cult. [online]. 2012, vol.39, n.2, pp.239-259. ISSN 0120-2456.
The article analyzes the relationship between the National Popular Alliance, founded in 1961 by General Gustavo Rojas Pinilla, and the "April 19th Movement", an urban guerrilla launched in 1974, by examining the guerrilla's origins, its participation in the National Popular Alliance, its struggle with the party leadership, and the ensuing rupture. The sources for this article are the "April 19th Movement" archive, interviews, and press archives. The main conclusion is that the relation between the organizations was based on ambivalence and romanticism combination that had counterproductive effects.
