Abstract

SILVA OLARTE, Renán. THE ANACHRONISM IN HISTORY AND THE SOCIAL SCIENCES. hist.crit. [online]. 2009, n.39, suppl.1, pp.278-299. ISSN 0121-1617.

This article briefy examines a subject repeatedly addressed by historians: the anachronism. Called the historian's "sin of sins" by Lucien Febvre, the article shows the current relevance of this issue and underscores the need to be continuously vigilant with respect to this obstacle to historical understanding, particularly since it is capable of assuming the most surprising forms.

Keywords : Anachronism; Language; Historical Analysis; Present; Past.
