Abstract

PARGA-LOZANO, Diana Lineth  and  PACHECO-DE CARVALHO, Washington Luiz. Research in Curricular Environmentalization. Rev. Fac. Cienc. Tecnol. [online]. 2019, n.46, pp.39-56. ISSN 0121-3814.

Although curriculum environmentalization is developed in some vocational training courses, in the case of science teacher education it has been little addressed, so the responsibilities of universities, undergraduate and postgraduate programs or courses, and science teachers in this regard are essential to meet, on the one hand, the demands of society, but above all the environmental problems, and thus to train teachers better prepared to face such a challenge. Oriented in this sense, a research was carried out in which, in its first phase, a qualitative and interpretative study of documents published in the last ten years was done in order to identify the trends of the environmentalization of disciplinary content in the international context. The study was part of the trajectory of developing a doctoral thesis at UNESP., São Paulo, Brazil, and sought to understand how the environmentalization of chemistry teacher education courses in Colômbia has been implemented. The results of the trends have shown that it is mainly focused on environmental education, sustainable development aspects and green chemistry às subjects of the training components in these courses. Notwithstanding all the existing documentation and general guidelines, the study concluded that the environmentalization of the content is far from being included in teaching because what is effectively approached happens from the discipline às such.

Keywords : Curricular environmentalization; initial teacher training; green chemistry; environmental education; environmental sustainability; pedagogical content knowledge.
