Abstract

VELA MURILLO, Norma Patricia. POWERS IN MOVEMENT: SOCIAL MOBILIZATION AND MODULATION OF THE TERRITORY. THE CASE OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CAJAMARCA (TOLIMA). anal.polit. [online]. 2020, vol.33, n.98, pp.121-135. ISSN 0121-4705.  https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v33n98.89413.

This article explains how the emergence and deployment of a social movement against the extractivist development model modulates a territory. Based on data mining, ethnographic work and the analysis of the territorial conflict in the municipality of Cajamarca (Tolima), it discusses how social mobilisation acts as the backbone of the questioning of the Colombian government’s state logic regarding the construction of the country from the other side. In this way, the cognitive capital and the capacities that the diverse social actors have to cooperate in the framework of the mobilization are not exhausted in this one and, they are in constant game from the superposition of institutions and the negotiation of powers.

Keywords : Social mobilization; Territorial conflict; modulation of territory.
