One of the most surprising facts in the last 30 years is that the advances in economic theory have taken place in the framework and parameters of the neoclassical approach. This paper discusses some of the theoretical reasons that intend to explain this scientific vitality al though the incompetence of this theory to give satisfactory explanation of not even the market economy.
