A simple model of drug trafficking, which embodies this activity risks, is shown in this paper. The model helps to explain two stylized facts of this activity: the generation of extraordinary profits and strong reproduction ability under prohibition and repression. The model creates a direct link between the repression of supply, which has been the dominant strategy in the fight against drug trafficking, and the mentioned facts.
