Abstract

JIMENEZ JIMENEZ, Magda Catalina. Development Stage of Colombian Social Mobilization in 2021. Emotions as a Strategic Resource. Estud. Polit. [online]. 2023, n.68, pp.192-221.  Epub Dec 14, 2023. ISSN 0121-5167.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.espo.n68a08.

This article analyzes the stage of development of Colombian social mobilization in 2021, one of the most important in the last decade, which in its trajectory highlighted the disconnection between the Government and citizens, through two variables, the emotions used during social mobilization and the use of collective action repertoires, operationalized in three moments: emergence, mobilization and decline. The information was collected through the Twitter platform and using a qualitative descriptive methodology we sought to establish the relationship emotion-strategy and action-repertoire, both for the movements and for the Government. This relationship provides clues about this form of political participation and its impact on the governability and democratic quality of the Colombian political system.

Keywords : Political Behavior; Social Movements; Emotions; Social Protest; Collective Action Repertoires; Colombia.
