Abstract

PARRINI, Rodrigo. Interdicted phallus: body, masculinity, and law. Nómadas [online]. 2013, n.38, pp.65-79. ISSN 0121-7550.

This article considers the relationship between certain laws and the masculinity. It explores how some laws related to gender relationships and sexuality, enacted or modified in Mexico during the last two decades, build a representation of male corporeality, either by limiting it to the phallus as a signifier of masculinity, or establishing it as a corporal model of gender equality. Finally, following the order established within the law, the article chooses not to ignore or justify the hegemonic role of the sexual difference.

Keywords : gender; corporeality; masculinity; sexual difference; law; Mexico.
