This article analyzes the strategic aspects of the reasoning that led to the formulation of science and technology policies in Colombia, Mexico and Argentina over the last decades. The author examines the models used to regulate scientific systems and networks since 1990 in the aforementioned countries, and how these networks have produced knowledge for their nations. The article explores various nuances and perspectives from sociology and other social sciences in order to show the prevalence of the capitalist production ideology on the regional scientific models.
