Abstract

SCHALLHAMMER, Karl Erik. The crime scene: reflexiones sobre el palco de lo contemporáneo. Mem. Soc. [online]. 2012, vol.16, n.32, pp.32-41. ISSN 0122-5197.

The "crime scene" holds a privileged place in the staging of contemporary reality through the media. But, what is the heuristic benefit of such legal gaze into reality? What can we see when the world is framed as the space of a crime? Using examples from contemporary visual arts, this essay discusses the bridge that this scenario offers towards memory and the historical present, providing elements for the formulation of a forensic aesthetic.

Keywords : crime scene; trauma; forensic aesthetics; Renno Rosangela, 1962; criticism and interpretation; crime scenes; legal photography.
