This article analyzes the role of the Movimiento de Mujeres contra la Guerra y por la Paz (MMGP)-Women's movement against War and in favor of Peace- in the construction of memory and resistance from the perspective of popular feminism. The article studies the case of the massacre of May 16, 1998 in the Campin neighborhood of Barrancabermeja to reveal the contribution of women in the defense of life and territory, as well as the resignification of social trauma. For this purpose, a qualitative methodology is applied with participant observation, semi-structured interviews with women of the organization and review of secondary sources.

Keywords : Colombia; popular feminism; women's organizations; violence.
