Abstract

CALDERON HERNANDEZ, GREGORIO; ALVAREZ GIRALDO, CLAUDIA MILENA  and  NARANJO VALENCIA, JULIA CLEMENCIA. The role of human resource management in the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2011, vol.27, n.118, pp.163-188. ISSN 0123-5923.

Human resource management is going beyond having a merely instrumental role, to becoming the support of organizational competitiveness. One of the areas in which human resource management must support companies is in fulfilling their social responsibility. This research aims to find evidence of this relationship based on a theoretical perspective and a comparison of a set of Colombian companies. We performed a triangulation of both quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection. We carried out an analysis of the validity and reliability of information, and used cluster techniques to analyze the information, and complemented them with descriptive and qualitative techniques, such as discourse analysis.

Keywords : Human resource management; human resources; corporate social responsibility; social responsiveness.
