Resumen

YELIN, Julieta. Reading and Writing Life. Approaches to a Bio-Poetic Perspective. Lit. teor. hist. crit. [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.1, pp.321-336. ISSN 0123-5931.  https://doi.org/10.15446/lthc.v21n1.74877.

The last few decades have seen intense and fruitful dialogues between literary studies and biopolitical thought. On the basis of these dialogues, it is possible to infer the existence of a bio-poetical field, that is, a specific perspective for the study of literary thought on life. In both its fictional and critical facets, bio-poetics discusses the relation between writing and life, following Michel Foucault, who showed that this contact has philosophical and political effects, in addition to the strictly literary ones. The article analyzes the possible functions of the transdisciplinary notion ofbio-poetics and its main methodological challenges, while at the same time suggesting that it should be linked to Roberto Esposito's concept of affirmative biopolitics.

Palabras clave : literature; life; biopolitics; bio-poetics.
