SANCHEZ IDIART, Cecilia. Training the Gaze. Travel Writing in María Sonia Cristoff. Lit. teor. hist. crit. [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.1, pp.51-69. Epub 13-Abr-2020. ISSN 0123-5931. https://doi.org/10.15446/lthc.v22n1.82292.
In the context of the global process of flexibilization of nation-state borders, the work of Argentinean writer María Sonia Cristoff explores the relations between narrative and movement. In the anthology Acento extranjero (2000) and the chronicle Falsa calma (2004), set in the Argentinean Patagonia, Cristoff attempts an approach to space that highlights its politicity as a scenario of disputes over collective use, and promotes discussion with other texts and voices. Beyond foundational myths of national identity, Patagonia is shaped on the basis of a dense weave of paths, practices, ways of life, and discourses.
